Adrenaline. Athleticism. Effort. Exhaustion. I am a dancer interested in what happens when the mind and body is pushed to the extreme and the balance that can be found among this spectrum. My life, work, and self is often found spread across these planes – half in the artistic world, half in the scientific world. I am inspired by motion, physics, numbers, geometry – manipulation of patterns and challenging the mind. Within this I find myself most alive in movement that is exhausting, constant, physical, with moments of catch and release. I love training and utilizing this training. Presenting the body and expressing a clear goal is at the core of what I desire from my dancing. I love challenges that allow me to work and grow in a number of ways – physically, mentally, and emotionally. As of late, I have become interested in challenging my emotional state. My entire life I have avoided vulnerability and so I am seeking to embrace this challenge and take my emotional state further, placing trust in my feelings and in others as well. My art lies and thrives in utilizing all aspects of my mind, body, and self within my dancing.
